To mark the occasion of the Sprengel Museum Hannover’s 25th anniversary in June, 2004, the ‘Friends of the Museum’ gave the museum a promise of what the future holds: sprengels.net, an Internet-based forum for the next generation of art-interested young people and those already involved in the museum. sprengels.net was officially launched in November 2004 with the unforgettable “Andy Warhol Ball”. More than 30 members have, since then, joined the forum. sprengels.net is not an independent organisation in its own right, but a means of making the “Friends of the Sprengel Museum Hannover e.V.” more accessible to those under 45 years of age.  It serves as a link to events, which take on the character of those who attend. Current events, as well as texts and photographs of past events, are listed on the Internet site of the same name. All good things need time to take shape and, over the years, through the involvement and energy of members, sprengels.net has become an important partner for the museum. Just as the founder of the museum, Bernhard Sprengel, used to say, his “expectations concerning art were as high as those for the chocolate” he produced, this also applies to the content of the museum…
